Updated 6/30/25 The flows into Lake Estes are currently 230 cfs. As of this post current flows out of Lake Estes are now running at 129 cfs.. With high amounts of water still running into Lake Estes be sure and check flows out of the lake before heading out. With the current flows, Fishing continues to be very good from the spillway on down the canyon to Loveland. squirmy worms, Sparkle wing RS2 in Black and Gray in sizes 18/20 work well and Copper ribbed and Foam Head emergers, Bling Midge, Chubby Chernobyl, Hippie Stompers, Patt’s Rubber legs, Stonefly nymph patterns, Perdigons, Hares Ear, CDC Peasant tails, Walt’s worm and Frenchies. Dry flies would be small extended body BWO’s, PMD, Mole flies, dry or drowned, parachute Adams, Elk Hair Caddis flies, Ant patterns, Wooly Buggers try Thin Mints, olive and black and black and Olive leech patterns are still working well when fished in the deeper slower moving water and fished along the banks.

Updated 6/30/25 The flows of the Big Thompson currently running through Moraine park are at 116 cfs. Flows will be consistently falling as we continue on into the summer months. Nymphs try Squirmy worms/small chenille worms in pink and purple. Small sow bugs, Small pheasant tails, midge and emerger patterns, blowtorch, perdigons have worked well. Dry flies try Parachute Adams, blue wing olive mayflies, PMD, Yellow Sallies, Elk/Deer hair caddis Chubby Chernobyl, Hippie stompers. Streamer patterns try Thin mints, Black and Olive colors.
Updated 6/30/25 Middle St. Vrain flows at peaceful valley are at 83 cfs. Squirmy worm patterns, San Juan worms, Hares ear, Copper ribbed and Sparkle wing RS2, small pheasant tails, small midge and Perdigon patterns. Dry flies include Parachute Adams, small Elk/Deer hair caddis flies, Purple Haze, BWO and Ext body BWO’s. Deeper pools and slower moving waters try woolly Buggers and leech patterns in Blk, Olive, Thin Mints.
Updated 6/30/25 Flows in the Fall River are decreasing and fishing has been good. Worms in pink and Purple, perdigons, pheasant tails, zebra midge and emerger patterns, Foam wing and Sparkle winged RS2. Dry flies try Elk/Deer hair caddis, PMD, small Parachute Adams, bwo patterns as well. Streamers try Thin Mints, Olive and Blk Woolly Buggers.
Updated. 6/30/25. Flows of Glacier Creek continue to decrease and fishing has been good all up through the park. San Juan, Squirmy worms and small chenille type worms in pink and Purple will work with the runoff. Small Caddis midge patterns RS2 and emergers will work well. Dry flies parachute Adams, PMD, Ext. Bwo’s, mole flies, Elk Hair caddis have been doing very well. Streamers try thin mints, olive and black. Mini leech patterns in black and olive.
Roaring River
Updated 6/30/25 Flows of the Roaring River are decreasing and fishing has been good. Look for slower moving water, pools, and eddys where fish will be located. Try San Juan/ squirmy worms and the chenille type worm patterns in pink and purple. Small caddis midge patterns, RS2, pheasant tails, Zebra and poison tung patterns as well. Dry flies include PMD, parachute Adams, BWO, Elk/Deer hair Caddis, Mole flies dry or wet. Pools try Wooly Buggers in Black, Olive, Thin Mints.
Updated 6/30/25 All alpine lakes are ice free and fishable. Fish inlet and outlets of the lakes. Chubby Chernobyl to Small midges and pheasant tails and worm patterns, Dry Flies try Chubby Chernobyl to Balanced Leech in deeper waters. Orange Ashers, Hippy Stompers to a Black Ant, Elk/Deer hair caddis, Parachute Adams, Griffiths Gnats. Streamers/ Buggers/ leech patterns in Black, Olive, Thin Mints stripped along the edge of drop offs.
